Zona G. Allen, a life-long resident of Irving, died on Monday, February 6, 2017 at the age of 78. She was born on February 7, 1938 to Vernon and Emma Kate (Cooper) Dicken. Zona was a Secretary in the insurance industry. She is preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Denise Allen. Survivors include her husband of 55 years, William E. Billy Allen of Irving; daughter, Sheila Peak and husband John of Houston; grandchildren, Katrina Volkenant and husband Douglas of Austin, Johnny Peak of San Angelo; great-grandson on the way, Harper Glenn Volkenant; brother, James Dicken of Arkansas; sister, Cathy Dicken of Arkansas; aunt, Norma Jean Gossett of Paris, Texas. Graveside service was Thursday, February 9th at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens, 1413 East Irving Boulevard, Irving, Texas. Memorials can be made to the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
