H G and Yvonne Welch

Services for H G, 95, and Edith Yvonne, 91, Welch are scheduled for 10am Friday, February 7, 2025 at Colonial Funeral Home in Irving, Texas. Burial will be at the DFW National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.

H.G. "Gene" was born on July 2, 1929 in Athens, Texas and returned to his heavenly home on January 8, 2025. Gene graduated from Crossroads High School and Henderson County Community College. Gene also served his country during the Korean War as a military police officer for the United States Air Force.

Edith "Yvonne" Dixon was born on March 8, 1933 in New York, Texas and returned to her heavenly home on August 8, 2024. Yvonne graduated from Malakoff High School where she excelled in girls basketball being voted most athletic.

Gene and Yvonne were lifelong residents of Irving, Texas and faithful members of the Church of Christ. Gene and Yvonne were married for 72 years in 2024.

Gene's career for over 40 years was in building material sales while Yvonne worked for the Irving School systems for over 30 years.

They are survived by sons, Jeff Welch of Saginaw, Texas, David Welch of Irving, Texas and daughter, Debbie Welch Spurlock of Fort Worth, Texas.

Left to cherish their memory are six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren along with numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
