Loving husband and father William "Bill" Robert Willenberg left this world to be with his Lord Jesus Christ and his loving wife, Karen, on Thursday, January 13, 2022.
Bill was born in Freeport, Texas on December 27, 1937 to James and Frances (Brown) Willenberg. Bill graduated from Terrebone High School in Houma, LA and served time in the Marines where he was stationed at USMC Yuma. He also attended college at Arizona Western College in Yuma, Arizona and Louisiana State University. Bill was a gifted athlete who in his younger years played basketball and semi-pro baseball. Bills true talent and passion, though, was in golf; he was a head golf professional in Yuma, AZ, Orange, CA and in Houma, LA. Bill lived in Louisiana, California, and Arizona and eventually returned his home state of Texas where he began a career as a State Farm Agent in Irving, Texas, retiring after 32 years. He was a faithful servant to both Calvary Temple in Irving, TX and Gateway Church in Southlake, TX and served in the Gideon organization as well.
Bill adored his wife and loved his children and family deeply, but there was no love stronger than his love for his Lord Jesus Christ. He never hesitated to share His word with family or friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his beautiful wife, Karen, and one grandson. Survivors include his sister Jaime Willenberg Greer of Crystal Beach, TX; daughters Stacy Davidson (Steve) of Yuma, AZ and Stephanie Pierson (Greg) of Eureka, CA; and sons Jeffery (Annie) of Puerto Rico, and Billy of Euless; two granddaughters and three grandsons; and two great-granddaughters and one great-grandson.
Due to restrictions, there will be no services held at this time; interment will be 11:15 a.m., Monday, January 31, 2022 at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. A link to view the ceremony will be provided upon request.
