William D. "Bill" Potts, 96, a resident of Azle, Texas, formerly of Irving, died Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at Medical City Fort Worth. Born October 9, 1922 in Steele, Missouri, he was the son of the late Thomas D. Potts and Edna A. Bess Potts. He served in the U S Army during World War II. He married Shirley Hasemeyer June 20, 1969 in Irving. They were charter members of Calvary Church in Irving. They lived in Irving from 1969 until 1995 and moved to Colorado for ten years. They moved to Azel in 2005. She preceded him in death September 15, 2016. Survivors include his children, Daniel Potts and wife Marjorie of Azle, Patricia "Pat" Wright and husband Bobby of Brownsville, TX, and David Potts and wife Twilla of Farmers Branch, TX; and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 18, 2018 in the chapel of Calvary Church, 4401 N. Hwy 161 Irving, TX 75038. Private burial will be at Moores Memorial Gardens in Arlington.
