WILLIAM L. MAYO, age 84, a resident of Fort Worth for 25 years, formerly of Irving, died Sunday, July 14, 2013 in Fort Worth. Born August 13, 1928 in Olney, he was the son of Troy L. and Eula Mae Hawkins Mayo. He retired from Lockheed Martin as a security guard for 35 years. Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Kim; daughter Jennifer and husband David Christian of Fort Worth; sons, Richard G. and wife Rhonda Mayo of Irving, Tony Lee and wife Patricia Mayo of Massachusetts, Tracy Duane and wife Marla Mayo of Houston, Corey and wife Judy Mayo of San Antonio and Thomas and wife Kara Witt of Oklahoma; 12 grandchildren;16 great grandchildren; one great granddaughter; and many beloved extended family members. William shared the gift of life through organ/tissue donation. Visitation 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Donnellys Colonial Funeral Home, 606 W. Airport Freeway in Irving. Funeral 1:00 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel. Graveside service 3:00 p.m. Friday at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Fort Worth.
