WILLIAM BILL R. GREEN, age 84, a resident of Irving, Texas since 1982, died Sunday, March 6, 2011 at a Bedford nursing center. Born February 6, 1927 in Detroit, Michigan, he was the son of Edgar Ray and Ethel Kinsley Green. Bill retired from the U.S. Navy in 1982, after over 30 years of service. He graduated from Seattle University and attended seminary in San Antonio, Texas. He was an avid tennis player and a member of the Catholic church. Preceded in death by his parents, survivors include his brother, Donald Green of Bedford; brother-in-law, Dick Grant and wife Dorothy of Euless; and twelve nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday at Donnellys Colonial Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial will be held 11:30 a.m., Thursday, March 10, 2011 at Holy Family of Nazareth Catholic Church, 2323 Cheyenne, Irving with Rev. Msgr. Jerome Duesman presiding. Interment service 1:30 p.m., Thursday at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. During this time of loss, the family would value your prayers rather than a floral or monetary donation.
