Obituary

William "Billy" Albert Barrett Gage, 61, of Irving, died Tuesday November 22, 2022 at Baylor Scott & White in Dallas. Born September 1, 1961 in Dallas, he was the son of William Albert Barrett and Vicki Sue Phillips. After his fathers passing, he was raised in Irving by Vicki and his adoptive father James Jefferson Gage. He attended Brandenburg Elementary, Travis Junior High, and graduated from MacArthur High School, where he met his wife of 37 years, Teresa Louise Duarte Gage. They were married at Holy Family of Nazareth Catholic Church in 1985 after Billy converted to Catholicism, which would play a major role for the rest of his life. For years he worked various jobs including electrician, contractor, and even a DJ for KLOR Classic Rock Radio in Ponca City, OK. The work he took the most pride in was the thirteen years he spent at Holy Family as Maintenance Supervisor. He is survived by his wife, Teresa Gage; his parents Jeff and Vicki Gage; his two sons Philip Gage and wife Priscilla and Jesse Gage and Sarah Pribble; his daughter Kristin Boone and husband Jay; a sister Shelly Marie Lopez and husband Alex and brother Jeffrey Scott Gage and wife Chaundelle; two grandsons Michael Boone and Ezra Gage and granddaughters Xochi Anchondo and Alice Gage; father in law Eduardo Duarte and wife Alice; two sisters in law and six nieces and nephews; two god-daughters Isabelle Culpepper and Mia Yalena Sanchez; and his faithful protector "Strawberry." Billys faith guided him in his life-long pursuit of service to his fellow man. No favor was too big for him, and he has helped countless people throughout his life. He participated in Great Days of Service and gave generously of his time and skills wherever they were needed. He was a devout Catholic that taught religious education to new members, was a lector at many Sunday Masses, and volunteered constantly with his church. He participated in fundraising for Holy Familys yearly fall festival, and is best remembered as a clown on stilts entertaining festival goers. Billy shared these acts of service with strangers and family members alike. He was a devoted husband, a caring father, and a dedicated grandfather. He will be immeasurably missed. Services will be held 10:00 am Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Holy Family of Nazareth Catholic Church 2323 Cheyenne St. Irving, TX 75062. A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 am in the Holy Family Parish Hall. SERVICES Mass of Christian Burial
