WES D. WILSON, age 78, a resident of Irving since 1957, died Saturday, April 2, 2011 at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. Born March 3, 1933 in Richmond, Indiana, he was the son of Elden H. and Gwendolyn Spitler Wilson. A U S Navy veteran during the Korean conflict, he later graduated from Tri-State College (now University) in Angola, Indiana. He was a civil engineer. Married to Ione Thomas June 7, 1953 in Richmond Indiana, they moved to Irving in 1957. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church of Dallas and the New Horizons Band. Survivors include his wife Ione; daughter Vickie Horn of Grapevine and son Ralph Wilson and his wife Beth of Dallas; former son-in-law, Tye Horn; and grandchildren Andrew Horn and wife Jeanette, Travis Horn and wife Emily, Natalie Horn and Sophia Wilson. A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 8200 Devonshire Dr. in Dallas. Rev. Karl Schwarz will officiate.
