WENDELL DALLAS JONES, age 94, a resident of Irving since 1948, died Thursday, July 17, 2014 at home. Born February 27, 1920 in Bardwell, Texas, the son of Walter Dallas Jones and Leona Mae Chapman Jones, he was a U.S. Army veteran. In June, 1946, he married Eva Ruth Carter in Dallas. He was a former employee of Texas Power and Light and was a maintenance supervisor at Texas Instruments retiring in June, 1983 after 30 years of service. Wendell was a member of Irving Masonic Lodge and Irving North Christian Church. Preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Eva Ruth Jones in November, 2003; son, Deryl Jones; sisters, Neva Jones and Emma Lou Williams; and nephew, Ronnie Williams, survivors include his daughter, Lou Anne Jones of Irving; daughter-in-law, Jaletta Sue Jones of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Wesley Dustin Jones of Fort Worth, Jennifer Schmidt of Euless, and Christi Raumbaugh and husband Greg of Henderson; seven great grandchildren; and niece, Nancy Wells of LaGrange. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 5:00 7:00 p.m. Sunday. Funeral service is 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 21 at Irving North Christian Church, 2901 North MacArthur Blvd in Irving with Rev. Chris Caruthers and Sarah Almanza officiating.
