Obituary

Wanda Lanier, age 93, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2024. Born in Breckenridge, Texas, in January 1931, she was the cherished daughter of General and Cora Phillips and is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, W.G. Phillips. Wanda lived a life filled with purpose and joy. A devoted member of First Methodist Church in Irving, Texas, she generously shared her time and talents through volunteering. She loved spending time with her family, creating lasting memories, and found great happiness at Possum Kingdom while spending time with her husband Dale. Wanda is survived by her daughter, Linda Lanier Lochhead; her sons, Don Lanier and Larry Lanier; as well as seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy. Her warmth, laughter, and unwavering spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, October 3, at Oak Grove Memorial Garden. Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate Wandas life and share their cherished memories. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to your favorite charity or to First Methodist Church of Irving, a place that held special meaning for Wanda.
