Walter Leon Phillips Jr., 78, of Dallas, Texas, passed away on October 28, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Sr. and Willeta Phillips, and his sister, Loyce Cervantes. Walter is survived by his loving wife, Rhonda; sisters Eva Lynch and Dorleeta and her husband Mark Wheelington; and his beloved golden retrievers, Ellie and Landri. He leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who cherished him as their "cool" uncle A proud Army veteran and a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, Walter was known for his generous spirit, sense of humor, and unwavering kindness. His friendships spanned over 60 years, reflecting the deep connections he made throughout his life. A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, November 9th, at noon at First Church of the Nazarene in Irving. Interment will follow at DFW National Cemetery at a later date. Walter will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
