VIRGINIA L. McFARLAND, age 84, a resident of Irving since 1955, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 8, 2014 at Baylor Medical Center in Irving. Born July 30, 1930 in Valliant, Oklahoma, she married Guy William McFarland June 1, 1956 in Irving. Employed by United States Fidelity and Guaranty for 42 years, she was an assistant underwriter. She was a member of Bible Way Chapel in Irving. A loving mother and grandmother, she was known as Memaw to many. She will be greatly missed. Preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers, and a sister, she is survived by a daughter Sharon Dalley of Irving; sons, Marty McFarland and wife Donna of Grand Prairie and William McFarland; grandchildren, Michael Smith, Rebecca Mainord and husband Mark, Nathan McFarland and wife Angela, Danny McFarland and wife Rebecca, Jeffrey McFarland, and Kevin Dalley and wife Hilary; fifteen great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 7:00 9:00 p.m. Monday, August 11, 2014 at Donnellys Colonial Funeral Home, 606 West Airport Freeway. The funeral will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Bible Way Chapel, 1400 Trinity View in Irving (Trinity View and Shady Grove). Burial will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens.
