VICKIE EWERS, age 50, a resident of Grand Prairie, Texas, died Tuesday, February 4, 2014 in Greenville, Texas. Born January 21, 1964 in Irving, Texas, she went to Nimitz High School in Irving and was a resident of Grand Prairie for 20 years where she raised her family. Later she was a resident of Cedar Hill, Texas and Omaha, Nebraska. Vickie had a kind and loving heart and was a light to everyone she knew. Her sense of humor, wit, free spirit and outgoing personality were truly one of a kind. She will be remembered as a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend to everyone that knew her. She is preceded in death by her brother, Donald Carry. She is survived by her son, Brit Ewers of Houston; daughter, Blair Ewers of Austin; parents, Howard and Patricia Brennan Carry; brother, David Carry; and sister, Janice Flowers. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, February 6 at Donnellys Colonial Funeral Home, 606 West Airport Freeway in Irving. A funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 7 in the funeral home chapel with Pastor James Hogue officiating.
