VELORA WOMACK, age 85, a resident of Irving since July 1959, died Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Las Colinas Medical Center in Irving. Born November 30, 1929 in Delight, Arkansas, the daughter of William Ruel Rather and Minnie Ethel Applegate Rather, she married James C. Womack on December 25, 1948 in Delight. James preceded her in death on November 8, 2008. Velora retired from Safeway in 1984. She was a member of Christ Church. Survivors include her daughters, Glenda Lloyd of Irving, Sherry Hinson and husband Billy of Irving and Tammy Rutledge and husband Tommy of Brock; nine grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; sisters, Vahnita Spears, Betty Grantz and Jean Rather, all of Arkansas; brother, William Rather of Arkansas; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation is from 7:00 9:00 p.m., Friday, January 30 at Donnellys Colonial Funeral Home, 606 West Airport Freeway in Irving. Funeral service is 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 31 in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Greg Bowman officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving.
