TSgt Charles M. Brooks, Retired, age 77, a resident of Blue Ridge, Texas, died Sunday, September 18, 2011 at a Plano care center. Born May 1, 1934 in Lawton, Oklahoma, he was the son of Joe Don Brooks and Vivian Jewell Walker Brooks. Charles was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, retiring in 1973 after 21 years of service. Preceded in death by his parents, and wife, Gearldine Brooks, he is survived by his sons, Lance Brooks and wife Debbie of Lewisville, Michael Brooks and wife Michelle of Coppell, Jay Brooks and wife Pam of Frisco; grandchildren, Adam, Morgan, Jayson and Chaz; brother, Don Brooks and wife Carolyn of Houston. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday at Donnellys Colonial Funeral Home. Service with full military honors is 12:45 p.m., Thursday, September 22 at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery with Tony Linton officiating.
