Trudy Jean Gibson, 78, was born in Teague, TX on April 3, 1944, the daughter of Alvis Lee McNutt and Evelyn Pauline Thornton. She passed away at the Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Irving, TX, Monday, March 6, 2023. Memorial services to be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 25, 2023 at the Plymouth Park Baptist Church in Irving. Rev. Kenneth Branam will officiate. In 1960, Trudy moved to Irving TX, where she has lived for the last 63 years. There is where she raised her two children, Kimberly Allen (born in 1966) and Jeff Gibson (born in 1975). In 1973 Trudy joined Plymouth Park Baptist Church making her a 50-year member. She was a dedicated member of the church choir. She both performed and painted pageant sets, as well as, volunteered in youth services including VBS and youth camp. In 1983 Trudy was diagnosed with Lupus, an autoimmune disease that has high mortality rate, which she has been battling for the past 40 years. In 1985, she retired from Arco Industries where she held the title of Executive Secretary. During her retirement, Trudy loved spending time at her church, including bible study groups. 1986 is the year Trudy met Jan Tilley who became her best and closest friend, a friendship that lasted the past 37 years. In 1989, she purchased a lot in south Irving, where she built her dream home. Trudy loved walking in her neighborhood, which is where she met many of her closest friends. She was passionate with gardening and a talented artist which included, drawing, painting and sculpting. In 2021 Trudy was diagnosed with Lung Cancer. Due to COVID and health restrictions, she spent her last remaining years in the dream home she loved. Trudy entered heavens gate on March 6th 2023, with her beloved family and friends by her side. Trudy was preceded in death by her parents, Alvis McNutt, Evelyn Thornton, and her sister Bonnie Pavone. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Kimberly Allen and Jeff Gibson; (Jeffs fianc Bridget Nichols, and her son Preston Diehl, brother Paul McNutt, niece Meredith Bledsoe, nephew Wesley McNutt, grandsons Joshua Allen, Jacob Allen, wife Grace Allen and great grandson Jayden Allen.
