Tara M. Shea, beloved daughter of Michael H. and Debra Shafferman Shea, was born on November 26, 1980, in Irving, Texas. She passed away at her residence in Galveston, Texas. Tara is survived by her parents, Michael and Debbie Shea, her sister, Kasey Shea and her niece, Olive King. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and her 102 year old grandmother, Donna Shea. Tara graduated from Nimitz High School in 1999. She left for Galveston and Texas A&M Galveston the following fall. She fell in love with Galveston and the people she came to know. She never moved from her island. She had jobs in food service, bartender, retail and the local newspaper. Tara was known for her warm, welcoming smile and attitude. She loved her family, her pets and those she called friends She rarely met a stranger. Her yard, plants, and the beach were her refuge. She loved photography. Tara was crazy about The Beatles, Star Wars, Stephen King and Minions. A Celebration of Life service will be held 3:30 PM, Saturday, October 26, 2024 at the Colonial Funeral Home of Irving. Family and friends may visit from 2:30 until service time Saturday in the funeral home. In this time of loss, we honor Tara's memory and the joy she brought into our lives.
