Obituary

Our kind hearted, loving Sydnei, 19, of Irving, TX died unexpectedly on Friday, June 19, 2020. Despite a life long battle with depression, ADHD and Aspergers Syndrome, Sydnei lived a life full of kindness, love and compassion for the world around her. Her family take peace in knowing she is back in her grandmothers arms, where she was always the happiest. Sydnei was born on September 19, 2000 to Paul Michel and Shelly Sheets in Irving, TX where she lived the majority of her life. After graduating from Nimitz High School, she moved to Colorado for a few months while attending Colorado State University. Although she did not continue on at university, everyone who surrounded her was proud of her achievement on getting into the school of her dreams and attempting to pursue a career in the study of wolves, her greatest passion. Animals and nature truly were Sydneis greatest joy in life. From bugs, lizards, tortoises or turtles (there is a difference, you know!), to the larger creatures of our world, she was the happiest when she was around animals or in nature getting to share her knowledge and love of them with others. During high school, she was an active member of the FFA and volunteered as much as possible during her four years in the organization. Many of Sydneis peers remember fondly the time and passion she put into not only her work, but into helping those around her succeed as well. Anyone who knew Sydnei knew that she was a special soul. She brought something new and different to every encounter she had and remained true to herself to the very end. Her friends and family will miss her more than words can say. Sydnei is predeceased by her maternal grandfather, Kenneth Trainham, her paternal grandmother, and best friend, Judy Sheets, and her maternal aunt Kim Millard. She is survived by her parents, Paul Michel and Shelly Sheets of Irving; her eldest sister Krysten and Christopher Harris of Australia and her older sister Bryttni and Ovidio Cruz and nephew Corbin Cruz of Bedford. She also leaves her maternal grandmother, Nellie Trainham, of Irving; and her paternal grandfather, Paul Sheets of West Virginia. She is also survived by several loving aunts, uncles, Ty and Monette Hartis of Farris, Kandy Sheets of West Virginia, Cinnamon Sheets of West Virginia, Michael Millard of Ohio and cousins, Justin and Sarah Watson of Palmer and a host of friends. A memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m. Monday, June 29, 2020 at Donnelly's Colonial Funeral Home Chapel, 606 West Airport Freeway in Irving, Texas 75062. Pastor Anthony McCann will officiate.
