Obituary

On Friday, May 14, 2021, Steven Claude Evans, loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away at the age of 65. Steve was born June 30, 1955 in Beech Grove, Indiana to Raymond and Norma Jean Evans. On April 27, 1984, he married Michele Kathleen Lindsay. They raised two sons, Ryan and Jason. As an entrepreneur, he started Masonry Services beginning in 1992, specializing in residential and commercial construction. Steve had a passion for music. His love of music started with his grandfather playing guitar with Earl Scruggs on their back porch. He and his brothers continued that by playing guitar and singing at most family gatherings. His musical horizon was encompassed by practically all genres, with only a few exceptions. His horizons stretched from Elton John, The Beatles, and Crosby, Stills, and Nash to the Pentatonix, Vince Gil, and even Godsmack. He shared that passion with everyone around him, pointing out the subtle nuances in every song he loved. His quick wit and humorous banter were legendary amongst his family and friends. Though we believe he missed his calling as a stand-up comedian, he entertained everyone around him with ease. Steve was preceded in death by his father, Raymond, his mother, Norma Jean, and his brother, Alan. He is survived by his wife Michele, his two sons and two daughters-in-law, Ryan wife Jordan and Jason wife Geneva, his brothers, Raymond and Scott, and his sister, Robin, along with his five grandchildren and many other cousins, nieces, and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Thursday May 20, 2021 at Donnelleys Colonial Funeral Service at 2 PM at 606 W. Airport Freeway, Irving, TX 75062. In lieu of flowers we ask that donations be sent to the Great Dane Rescue of North Texas. SERVICES
