STERLING L. FOSTER, age 73, a resident of Irving for more than 60 years, died Thursday, June 23, 2011 at home. Born June 17, 1938 in Stratford, Oklahoma, he was the son of Freeman Sterling Foster and Leola Madge Stephens Foster. Sterling was a proud member of the AA group for 36 years, and an inspiration to the world. A produce manager for Minyard Food Stores, he retired after 45 years. On January 12, 2003, Sterling married Janie Bailey-Tucker in Irving. Preceded in death by his late wife, Carol Anne Foster, survivors include his wife, Janie; children, Sharon Foster of Arlington, Robert Foster and wife Becky of Keller, Jimmy Tucker and wife Gabrielle of McKinney and Julie Stevens and husband Clay of Crandall; eleven grandchildren; brothers, Travis and Harold Foster; sister, Lucy Ingram; brother, Kenny Huggins; and mother-in-law, Maggie Gideon. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, at Donnellys Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral Service 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 27 at Donnellys Chapel. Burial to follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving. Memorial contributions may be made to any cancer association of your choice.
