Sossamma Thomas was born to Kuruvilla Chacko and Annamma Chacko on June 9th 1940 in Kuttippurthu House, Puthuppalli, Kerala, India. She was the youngest of six children. She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal savior and was baptized at a very young age. After her primary education in Kerala, she completed her nursing program in Bhopal. Prior to marriage she attended the Puthupalli Brethren Assembly and during her nursing program she attended the Bhopal Brethren Assembly.
On January of 1970 she was married to K. C Thomas (Kachiparambil, Kumbanad) and they were blessed with two daughters, Simi and Susan. Together they settled in Bhilai and worshipped along with the Bhilai Brethren Assembly. There she worked in the state government hospital and was very dedicated and passionate in her nursing career. She was compassionate and unwavering in her efforts to help those less fortunate, particularly using her skills as a nurse.
She was instrumental in bringing their children up in the fear of the Lord. Sosamma made it her practice to never be late to a worship service and was a fierce prayer warrior. After retiring in the year 2000, they moved to their hometown Kumbanad until last year and was in continuous fellowship with Kumbanad Brethren Assembly. In April of 2023, they moved to The United States to be with their children and spent quality time with them both while also spending time in fellowship with the believers of the India Gospel Assembly Detroit, Philadelphia Brethren Church, and Carrollton Bible Chapel. Even with her physical ailments in her later years, she endeavored to be present at each spiritual gathering.
It pleased the Lord to call her home on January 28th, 2024, at 12:00pm, while she was attending the worship service (Carrollton Bible Chapel). She was strong in her faith and had a great hope in the Lord, and we are steadfast in the hope to meet her again on the other shore.
Shes survived by her beloved husband, K.C. Thomas, two daughters and their families.
