Shirley Goggans Matthews, age 87, of Irving was called home on August 16, 2023. She was born July 22,1936 in Greenville, TX to parents Willie Edward and Orene Berryman Mullins. She was proceeded in death by husbands Wm. Kenneth Matthews and James A. Goggans, Sr.; son James A. Goggans, Jr.; her parents Willie Edward Mullins and Orene Fletcher; brother Billy Joe Mullins, Sr. and sisters Maybell Cass, Mildred Nall and Margie Evans-Berryman. She is survived by daughter Lisa Goggans-Lambert and companion Bryan Reay; daughter-in-law Synda Sturdivant; grandchildren Gabe Goggans, JD Lambert, II and companion Lauryn Martin, Taylor Kittner and husband Nick, Jake Lambert and wife Miriam and Michael Hooper; great grandchildren Christian Lambert, Logan Kittner, Wyatt Kittner, Matthew Byrd and Kadin Hooper; sister Geneva Browning and husband Thomas and numerous nieces and nephews. She loved them all dearly and was extremely proud of each and every one. Visitation with the family will be Friday, August 18, 2023 at Colonial Funeral Home of Irving from 11:00am-1:00pm with funeral service at 1:00 pm followed by burial at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens.
