Shirley " Ginny"
Phillips
Feb 7, 1935 — Jun 8, 2025
Shirley Virginia "Ginny" Phillips, born February 7, 1935, in Tulsa Oklahoma,
and resided in Oologah, Oklahoma until she met her husband. She passed
away peacefully on June 8, 2025, at the age of 90, just one day after what
would have been her 68th wedding anniversary to her beloved husband,
the late Charles Phillips. Their love was a lifelong bond, and now they are
together once more.
Known to all as Ginny, she was truly the most pleasant person in the
world—gracious, warm-hearted, and endlessly kind. She had a calming
presence that made everyone feel welcome, whether you were family, a friend,
or someone she had just met.
Ginny was especially known for her exceptional Sunday family dinners. Her fried
chicken was famous among family and friends—crispy, flavorful, and cooked with
love; and her homemade pies that were always made from scratch. Her pies
brought people together and turned simple moments into cherished memories.
One of Ginny's greatest joys in life was supporting her children and grandchildren in
sports. She loved nothing more than ushering them to baseball, basketball, and soccer
games; just about any field or court where they played. She never missed a chance to
cheer them on rain or shine, win or lose. She once stated, "that she has washed half of
the dirt from the River Bottoms down her washing machine."
She is survived by her three devoted sons: Doug (wife Pam), Pat, and David Phillips.
Her three beloved grandchildren: Ryan, Blake, and Dana Phillips, and two great-grandsons:
Denver and Jackson. Her legacy lives on in the meals she shared, the values she instilled,
and the love she gave so freely.
In memory of Ginny a visitation will be held at Colonial Funeral Home. Following a
graveside service will be held at the Dallas-Fort Worth Cemetery.
