Sheri Lynn Shelton, age 78 of Fort Worth, Texas passed away on November 18, 2023. Born May 12, 1945, in Gorman, Texas to Comer and Blanche Steele. She and her family moved to Irving, Texas where she attended Irving Schools and graduated Irving High School in 1963. Soon after, she enrolled in Arlington College where she took some business courses while working a couple of jobs on Irving Blvd. In 1967, she met John Shelton, who she later married on February 15, 1969, in Irving, Texas. She was an administrative assistant in the Irving ISD for several years until she retired in 2000. Sheri was saved at age 5 at the Oakview Baptist Church and moved membership to First Baptist Church of Irving in 1981 where she was a longtime member. Sheri is preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis and Elvis Bruner, parents, Comer and Blanche Steele, sister, Norma D Steele, and brother, Cecil Dickey. She is survived by her husband, John Shelton, son, Greg Shelton and fiance Becky Torres, niece Gail Vaughn and husband Larry of Joplin, Missouri, and grandchildren Carter & Claire Shelton, and Joshua Torres all of Fort Worth, Texas, and Stephen Torres of Osan, Korea Air Force Base. Her love for the Lord and her family was felt by all. Funeral services to be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, November 29th at Colonial Funeral Home of Irving. A visitation will occur one hour before services on Wednesday. Interment to follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving. SERVICES
