Sara Mae Watson, "Mamaw", 86, of Irving, was born in Texarkana, Texas on January 13, 1937, the daughter of John Henry and Ruby Hardin Mathis. She passed away at her residence in Irving, Texas on Tuesday, February 14, 2023. Sara has lived in Irving since 1968, She retired from U. S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and has been a longtime member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Irving where she actively volunteered her time, often putting her floral arranging skills to use.She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, James Russell Watson. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Jon Scott Watson, his wife, Shannon, and grandchildren Jon Elliott and Corri Michelle Watson. Memorial services will be on Friday, February 17 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Marks Episcopal Church, 516 South OConnor Road, Irving, Texas, 75060. Father Bob Corley and Father Gavin McAdams will be officiating. Saras family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Altar Guild Flower Fund at St. Marks Episcopal Church.
