Sara Goodenough Vance, 74, of Irving died Friday, January 10, 2020 at Baylor, Scott & White Hospital in Irving. She was born June 17, 1945 in El Paso, Texas to the late Walter B. Goodenough and Doris Keathley Goodenough. Sara and Lyle R. Vance were married on June 14, 1963 in Corpus Christi, Texas and moved to Irving in 1972. Sara received her Masters Degree in Library Science and was employed with the Irving Public Library from 1986 2004. She is preceded in death by her son, Reed Vance on April 16, 2016. She is survived by her husband Lyle R. Vance of Irving; daughter, Jill McMakin of Richardson; son, Stephen Vance and wife Traci of Richardson; daughter, Julie Van Leverson of Columbia, MO; grandchildren, Darby McMakin, Daphne Adams, Brooke Vance, Hadley Vance, Jacob Leverson, Rylan Vance, Travers Vance and Hannah Vance; and sister, Patti Bowman of Corpus Christi. The family will receive friends 1:00-2:00 p.m. Thursday January 23, 2020 at Donnellys Colonial Funeral Home, 606 West Airport Freeway in Irving. The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday January 24, 2020 in the funeral home chapel. Private burial will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving. SERVICES
