Sandra Kay
Hickey
May 24, 1943 — Sep 19, 2025
Sandra Kay Howell Hickey was born May 24th, 1943 in Dallas, TX, the daughter of Robert Roy Howell and Laeuna Harvey Howell. She passed away peacefully in her sleep September 19, 2025, in Flower Mound, TX.
Sandra grew up in Oak Cliff and graduated from Sunset High School. She met the love of her life, Jack Harlen Hickey, in her dad's grocery store, where he worked. They were married on September 8th, 1962, and were happily married for 60 years. They had two children, Darrell and Dana.
Jack and Sandra lived in Irving, TX for most of their married life. Sandra worked as a real estate agent for Lou Smith Realtors before becoming a broker and joining Henry S. Miller. When her grandchildren came along and she retired from her real estate career, she opened what she lovingly referred to as "Nana's Nurturing Nursery" and this became the focus of her life.
Her other dedication was First Baptist Irving, where Jack and Sandra were members since 1971. She devoted much of her time to the church and took great joy in leading the Truth Seekers Department where she had many close friends.
She also enjoyed cooking amazing meals for her family, hosting awesome parties and events, spending her free time scooting a boot with her Dance Depot buddies, and always searching for the perfect Kraig Parker show with her Elvis gang.
Sandra was preceeded in death by her parents, Robert and Laeuna Howell, and her husband of 60 years, Jack Hickey. Left to cherish her memory are her son Darrell Jack Hickey, and wife Lynn of Lewisville, TX; daughter Dana Hickey Wright and husband Brian of Corinth, TX; grandchildren Christopher Hickey, Kyle Hickey, Connor Wright, and Kayden Wright; numerous cousins and one sister.
Sandra Hickey was a wonderful wife, mom, nana, and friend. She was the hostess with the mostest and will be missed by all.
In lieu of flowers, Sandra's family encourages memorial donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Irving, or the Parkinson's Foundation at Parkinson.org.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at First Baptist Church of Irving. Friends and family may visit from 10:00 AM until service, Wednesday September 24th at the church. Burial will follow at the Laurel Land Cemetery in Dallas.
