SAMMIE VIRGINIA STEPHEN, age 92, a resident of Irving for 55 years, died October 22, 2015 at her home. Born October 5, 1923 in Savoy, Texas, she was married to William "Bill" Elmer Stephen June 12, 1946 in Dallas, Texas. Virginia along with her husband, Bill, owned William E. Stephen Insurance Agency. She was a member of Oak Haven United Methodist Church in Irving. Sammie was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Stephen; her parents, Samuel Jackson Cunningham and Mary Jewel Cunningham; her sisters, Helen Shearer and Martha Jo Butcher; and her brothers, Jack Cunningham and Johnny Cunningham. Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Stephen Henry and soninlaw Steve Henry; granddaughters, Rachel Henry Dodson and husband John Dodson, Shelbi Henry, and Aubrey Jo Henry and fianc Sean Munoz; great grandchildren, Hannah Dodson, Luke Dodson, Eli Dodson, Hayleigh Ann Bean, Payton Munoz and Sammie Jo Munoz; brothers, BB Cunningham of California, and Laddie Cunningham of Dallas; and sister, Susie Cunningham Travis of Austin. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Monday, October 26 from 6pm-8pm at Donnelly's Colonial Funeral Home, 606 West Airport Freeway in Irving. A service will be held at 10:30am, Tuesday, October 27 in the funeral home chapel. Graveside service will be at 1:30pm, Tuesday in Hebron Cemetery in Bells, Texas.
