SALOMON "MON" G. SOLIS, age 85, a resident of Dallas for most of his life, died Saturday, June 28, 2014 at Methodist Medical Center in Dallas. Born July 5, 1928 in Taylor, Texas, he was the son of Manuel Solis and Regina Gonzalez Solis. In September of 1948, he married Santos De La Garza in Dallas. Mon was a painter in automobile repair for several car dealerships in the area. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sandra Solis-Reznicek; his wife, Santos; brothers, Eliason "Chin", Andrew, Paul, and Isaac "Chaco"; and sister, Dolores "Lola". Survivors include his daughter, Mary Ann Munger of Irving; son, Edward Solis and wife Josephine of Irving; and son, Daniel Solis of Dallas; nine grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; sister, Esther Solis Gonzalez of Dallas; brothers, John Solis and wife Dora of Irving, Alex Solis and wife Helen, Manuel Solis and Sammy Solis, all of Dallas; as well as, several nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral service will be held 12 noon, Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at Donnellys Colonial Funeral Home Chapel, 606 West Airport Freeway in Irving. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 11:00 a.m.
