Obituary

Funeral services for Ruthelma "Ruth" Golez Loehr-Moffatt, will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 23rd at the Colonial Funeral Home of Irving Chapel. Visitation will be 6:00 PM - 8:00 pm, Friday, September 22, 2023, at the funeral home. Ruthelma, "Ruth" Golez Loehr-Moffatt was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She took her last breath on September 17, 2023 at age 75 surrounded by loved ones. Ruth was born to Aurora Valdez and Nestor Golez on October 6, 1947, in Silay City, Philippines. She married Howard Loehr and had 2 daughters. After his death, she met Charlie, and they were happily married for 23 years. Anyone that saw them together could see how much they loved and cared for each other until the very end. She worked for the Irving Independent School District as a Federal Funds Accountant for 25 years until her retirement. She took immense pride in her job and talked about numbers until her death. She was so excited to transition from accountant to grandmother/Lola in her retirement and loved her grandchildren/apos with her whole heart. Ruth loved dancing, parties, and her dear friends. She was a part of Maharlika Dance, CPU and friends, and other Asian American organizations throughout the years. She enjoyed shopping and was the most fashionable in the office. Even when Alzheimers affected her, she continued to dance, give hugs and kisses to family, friends, and strangers alike, and made sure she told everyone how beautiful or handsome they are. Ruth is preceded in death by her parents and her siblings Siegfredo, Guillermo, and Ninfa. She is survived by her husband Charles Moffatt of Irving; daughters Valerie Loehr of Dallas and Nicole Loehr of Chicago; nephew Philton Golez of Silay City, Philippines; grandchildren Reed, Jules, and Max Whittemore of Dallas; and many loved ones in the Philippines. The family wishes to thank Encore Memory Care Center and Faith Presbyterian Hospice for the love and care they gave Ruth. SERVICES
