RUTH DURHAM BUCHANNON, age 90, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 12, 2008. A former resident of Dallas, she moved to Irving in 1980. She is preceded in death by her husband of 49+ years, J. C. (Jack) Buchannon. She was the youngest of six siblings born 9-17-17 to Wilmarth & Silas Durham. A devoted homemaker, she especially enjoyed working in her yard. Ruth was faithful to her church and in leading her family in the ways of the Lord. She loved her family deeply and will be greatly missed. She is survived by two daughters, Joyce McDaniel and Linda Galvan and husband, Joe; one granddaughter, Darla Lansford & husband, Mike; one grandson, Robert M. Bedell; one great-grandson & wife and two great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and her beloved schnauzer, Holly. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the Irving Fire Department EMT, the health professionals of Las Colinas Medical Center, Texas Oncology, Baylor CHF Clinic and Season's Hospice. Without your skillful talents, Mother's time with us would have been much shorter. We are deeply grateful to each of you. Visitation will be 6 to 8 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home. Services will be Wednesday, 11 am at Donnellys Colonial Chapel with burial to follow at Crown Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews or the charity of your choice.
