ROY JEFFERY, age 83, a resident of Irving since 1957, died Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Irving. Born June 17, 1932 in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of Joseph Jeffery and Florence Maxine Williams Jeffery, he was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War and a recipient of a Purple Heart and Korean Service Medal. Roy was the Sexton at Bear Creek Cemetery in Euless for 20 years. He was an avid Ballroom dancer. Preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Jeffery in 1995, survivors include his daughter, Evelyn Svenpladsen and her husband Dale of Tennessee; son, Larry Jeffery and wife Pam of Lewisville; grandchildren, Kristine, Alexandra, Sonja and Shannon; great grandchildren, McKenzie, Ryley, Liam, Josslyn and Emily; and brother, Eugene Jeffery and wife Jane of Ohio. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, February 6 at Donnellys Colonial Funeral Home, 606 West Airport in Irving. Graveside service 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 7 at Bear Creek Cemetery.
