ROSIE MARQUEZ, age 56, a resident of Irving, Texas for 21 years, died Monday, September 12, 2011 at a Dallas hospital. Born July 25, 1955 in Weslaco, Texas, she was the daughter of Francisco and Tomasa Garcia Marquez. Survivors include her parents of Elsa, Texas; brothers and sisters, Richard Marquez of Mission, Frank Marquez of Duncanville, Elisa Marquez of Elsa, Carol Garcia of Irving and David Marquez of Elsa; aunt, Macaria Garcia of Elsa. Rosie is also survived by her two nieces who were as daughters to her, Jackie and Laura Garcia; grand-nephew, Aidan Rivera who brightened her life as a perfectly timed gift from God. Numerous other nieces and nephews also survive her. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at Donnellys Colonial Funeral Home. Burial will be at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
