Ronald Carson Robbins, 84, was born June 8, 1938, in Dallas, TX. He was the adopted son of Myron C. and Mildred Stockwell Robbins. He passed away at the Carrollton Regional Medical Center, Friday, May 19, 2023. Ronnie served in the US Coast Guard from 1956 - 1958 and did his basic training at Camp May, New Jersey. While he was stationed in New Orleans, LA he was involved in search and rescue operations during Hurricane Audrey. He married the love of his life Nedra Ann Morehead on August 6, 1960. He retired from State Farm Insurance as an Underwriter after working for 38 years. During his time at State Farm he developed numerous life-long friendships that he cherished dearly. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 50 years, Nedra Robbins and his grandson, John Anthony Robbins. Left to cherish his memory are his sons; Mike and wife Karen Robbins and Glenn and wife Jean Robbins, grandchildren, Lauren Robbins, Preston Robbins and Jeremy Stephenson; and wife Kelley, Great grandchildren Tate, Joshua and Julia. Celebration of Life services will be 10:00 AM, Thursday, May 25th, at Colonial Funeral Home of Irving, 606 West Airport Freeway, Irving with Rev. Ken Branham officiating, burial will follow at the Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving. The visitation will be Wednesday, May 24th, from 6:00 PM 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers will be Steve McCawley, Jerry Gervers, Dave Devoll, Steve Weddle, Joshua Stephenson and Jim Webb The Robbins family request that memorial donations be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation in memory of Ron.
