Ronald "Ron"
Fulgham
Dec 30, 1953 — Mar 20, 2026
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Ronald J. Fulgham, 72, of Irving. Ron passed away Friday, March 20, 2026, at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas. Ron was born December 30, 1953, in Dallas, Texas, to Weldon and Shirley Cottle Fulgham.
Ron was a fierce protector of those he loved, a man with a tough exterior that quietly held a deeply tender and generous heart. He was loyal to the core—someone you could always depend on—who would do anything for his family and friends. His love ran especially deep for his grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in his heart. Ron had a unique way with children; they were drawn to his kindness, his warmth, and the steady, safe presence he offered.
Though strong and resilient, Ron was tender-hearted beneath it all. He was deeply loved by his mother, Shirley, and remained the light of her life from boyhood into his final days. He carried that same love forward into his own family, leading with quiet strength, devotion, and a willingness to show up whenever he was needed.Ron lived life in his own unmistakable way—part rugged, part soft, and entirely unforgettable. Whether you knew him as a dependable friend, a devoted husband, a loving father, or a proud grandfather, you knew a man who loved deeply and gave freely.
Ron was preceded in death by his father, Jay and his stepfather Mel. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Denise; his children, Joy, Michael, Lena, Rachel, Bryan, Ryan, and Stephen; his 18 grandchildren; his mother, Shirley; and his beloved dogs, Honey, Angel, and Ruby.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at Oak View Baptist Church, 1004 S. Story Rd., Irving, TX 75060, with Dr. Jim Gerlach officiating.
