Obituary

Rogelio Guadalupe Rodrguez was born on June 30, 1951. Or July 1, 1951. By the time his mother registered his birth several months later traveling from General Tehran, Nuevo Len to Monterrey she had forgotten the exact day. Rogelio chose July 1 as his birthday when he arrived in Texas as a young adult, excited about having the opportunity to achieve the American Dream. He met his wife Ora Gonzales in the late 70s in Houston, Texas and they moved to Irving after their children Elva and Aaron were born. He was incredibly proud of his children, especially because they listened to him and stayed in school with each earning masters degrees. Rogelio was a talented bricklayer and would drive his family all around the DFW Metroplex to point out structures that he helped build with his hands. He enjoyed traveling and lived in Texas, North Carolina, Maryland, and Virginia. After all his time on the road, he moved his family back to Texas, which he always considered his permanent home. Rogelio loved animals, being outside, road trips, tinkering and building things. He was passionate about learning everything he could about astronomy and could talk about it for hours. Rogelio was enthralled by the stars, and anything related to outer space. He enjoyed watching his beloved team UANL Tigres of the Liga Mexicana and spending time with his family and friends. Later in life, he became a truck driver and was delighted that he was being paid to go on road trips every week. He was happiest on the road, safely delivering truckloads of U.S. Mail to families all over Texas. Rogelio is survived by his loving wife of 44 years Ora, daughter Elva, granddaughters Viviana and Olympia, son-in-law James, son Aaron, daughter-in-law Lindsay, and grandson Ignacio. SERVICES
