Roberta Birdie F. Northup, age 81, a resident of Irving for ten years, formerly of San Diego, California, died Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at her home. Born December 9, 1931 in Jericho Springs, Missouri, she was the daughter of Clarence Woods and Lucy Francis Wallace Woods. Birdie is survived by her daughter, Diana Rakestraw of Irving; daughter, Linda Smith of Missouri; grandchildren, Erin, Nicole, Nicki, Tracee and John; thirteen great grandchildren; and sisters, Elizabeth Berry of Missouri and Lynn Combs of Irving. A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 19 at Donnellys Colonial Funeral Home Chapel, 606 West Airport Freeway in Irving. Memorial contributions may be made to Multiple Sclerosis Foundation or Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
