It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness we announce the passing of Robert "Bob" "Shorty" H. Webb Jr. On February 12, 2024, the world lost an extraordinary father, grandfather, and friend, whose love, guidance, and unwavering support touched the lives of all who knew him.
Bob was a pillar of strength and a beacon of love within our family. His devotion to his role as a father and later grandfather was unmatched. He was a constant source of encouragement, always believing in his daughter and pushing her to go farther and do better. His gentle guidance and wise counsel shaped her into the person she is today.
As a father, he was Merediths biggest cheerleader and her steadfast supporter. He attended school events, celebrated her victories, and offered a shoulder to lean on during challenging times. His selflessness and dedication to her happiness and well-being were unwavering.
Beyond his role as a father, Bob was an incredible role model. He exemplified a strong work ethic, integrity, kindness, and compassion in every aspect of his life.
Bob had a passion for life and a zest for adventure. Before his knees and back got the better of him, he could be found underwater hanging out with the fishes on a coral reef. He instilled in so many a love for scuba diving and the need to protect our waters. His enthusiasm for life was contagious, and his ability to embrace every moment taught us the importance of cherishing each day.
In his spare time, Shorty enjoyed fishing and in the last few years he became a constant at the ice rink watching his grandchildren figure skate. These activities not only brought him joy but also provided opportunities for us to bond as a family. The memories we created during these moments will forever be cherished, as they represent the love and connection we shared.
Bob leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love, strength, and devotion. He is survived by his daughter Meredith Birdwell, son-in-law Bryen Birdwell, grandchildren Madelyn and Max Birdwell, and former wife Maureen Webb, sister-in-law Debbie Jorgensen and his niece Julie (Jason) Warner. He is also survived by his brother Jody Webb, nephew Eric (Rachel) Webb, as well as Scott Ford his great nephew and Sharon Ford his great niece. He is also leaving behind countless cousins and oh so many friends. He is proceeded in death by his parents Robert H. Webb Sr. and Ruby B. Webb, his beloved sister Sereda LaVerne Cross, and his niece Aundrea Ford.
Though he may no longer be physically present, his spirit will continue to guide and inspire us. The lessons he taught us and the love he bestowed upon us will forever live on in our hearts. Dad, I pray you find eternal peace, knowing your love will continue to guide and protect us. We will love you forever and miss you always.
