ROBERT BOB ROSS, age 74, a resident of Irving for 15 years, died Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. He was born February 13, 1939 in Tyler, Texas to John Olen Ross and Marie C. Spellman Ross. On February 27, 1999, Bob married Betty Shirley Newberry in Dallas. He was a Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus and a member of Holy Family of Nazareth Catholic Church in Irving. Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Shirley Newberry Ross of Irving; children, Donna Duncan of Rockwall, Tracee Payne and husband Robert of Emory, Steven Ross and wife Misty of Denton, David Ross and wife Tammy of Austin, Justin Newberry and wife Natalie of Carrollton, Debbie Zinsmeister and husband Dave of San Antonio and Marsha Pecena of Grand Prairie; 14 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Friday, November 15 at Donnellys Colonial Funeral Home, 606 West Airport Freeway in Irving. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 16 at Holy Family of Nazareth Catholic Church, 2323 Cheyenne in Irving with Rev. Msgr. Jerome Duesman presiding. Burial will follow at Laurel Land Memorial Park in Dallas. Memorial contributions may be made to a cancer charity of ones choice.
