ROBERT L. McKINNEY, age 79, a resident of Irving, Texas for 54 years, died Sunday, February 28, 2010 at home. He was born December 6, 1930 in Arlington, Texas to Owen M. and Ruby J. Reynolds McKinney. Robert was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of North Irving Baptist Church. He was a forklift operator at Shedd Bartush Food Company in Dallas for 31 years. He most recently worked at Six Flags Over Texas. Preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy McKinney in 2001, they married June 6, 1953 in Dallas. His sister, Carolyn also preceded him in death. Survivors include his daughter, Becky Rogers of Arlington; son, Bob McKinney and wife Debbie of Hurst; brothers, Billy McKinney and Owen Lee McKinney. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home. A graveside service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 5, 2010 at Grove Hill Memorial Park in Dallas, followed by a Memorial service at 1:00 p.m. at Donnellys Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jay Franks officiating.
