Robert Oland Childers, 68, of Grand Prairie, died suddenly Monday, March 21, 2022 at Medical City Arlington. Born July 2, 1953 in Irving, he was the son of the late Ruben Blake Childers and Laverne Hudson Childers. He married Rhonda Hawkins April 11, 1975 in Dallas. He was a diesel mechanic in the trucking industry. Preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers, Charles Thomas Childers, Aaron Blake Childers, and Michael Irving Childers, he is survived by his wife Rhonda of Grand Prairie; three children, Charles Frank Wilson, Jr. of Denton, Carrie Rene Childers Roberts of Krum, and Christopher Orion Childers and wife Janelle of Grand Prairie; a sister Martha Faye Childers Mitchell of Krum; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; an aunt JoWanna Hudson of Eakly, Oklahoma; and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews. The family will receive friends 6:00 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 24, 2022 at Colonial Funeral Home of Irving, 606 West Airport Freeway, 75062. The funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 25, 2022 at the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens, 1413 East Irving Blvd. in Irving 75061. Pastor Barry Jude will officiate. Pallbearers will be Jason Cox-Monik, Jeremy Mitchell, Josh Mitchell, Jerry Reed, Logan Wilson, John Villareal with Ethan Hughes serving as an alternate. SERVICES
