Originally from Charles City, Virginia, Ricky was a proud graduate of Virginia State University where he was a member of the football team and Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc. Starting his career as an educator, he eventually held various positions in telecommunications and lived in different parts of the United States as his career grew. For the past 19 years, he called Flower Mound, Texas home. Ricky never met a stranger. He enjoyed meeting new people and lit up any room he was in. His smile and sense of humor touched all that knew him. He will be missed tremendously by his children, Torie, Bryant and Ricardo, grandson Rian, and daughter-in-law Tia. In addition to his children, he is survived by his siblings Vance (Kathy), David (Patricia), Jeffery and Tammy, and was preceded in death by his parents Herman and Marion Jones, as well as sister Jill. He is also survived by nephews and nieces, Jeremy, Shawn, Keia, Kristin and Brent, and a host of cousins, fraternity brothers, and friends. A Celebration of Life will occur in his home state of Virginia. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 13th at 2:00 p.m. at March Funeral Home, 2110 East Laburnum Avenue, Richmond, VA 23222. Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 14 at St. Paul's Baptist Church, 4247 Creighton Road, Richmond Virginia 23223.
