RICHARD DALE ZACHRY, 62, of Irving, died on December 28, 2017 at his home, in the presence of his wife and eldest son. Richard was born in Fort Worth, Texas on April 10th, 1955, he was raised by his grandparents, Opal and Ray Morrison and graduated from Durant High School. Richard married Kathy Sue George on March 28th, 1975; she was truly the love and light of his life. They raised two sons together, Eric and Joe, of whom they were very proud. Richard retired as a home inspector from Allstate insurance after previously working 25 years in the flooring industry. His work was a means of provision for his greatest passion, his family. Richard always put God and his family first, ensuring they knew the Lord Jesus Christ, and that they never wanted for anything. Richard's friends were a close second to his family, he continually had time and compassion for others, whether they were life-long loved ones, or complete strangers. Despite life's hardships, Richard never succumbed to self-pity or despair, but remained proud and resilient throughout his life. Before being diagnosed with the auto-immune disease, C.I.D.P., he enjoyed hunting arrowheads, golfing, and spending time with friends and family. Over the last ten years of his life, he began fashioning crosses into jewelry and decorations to impart to others as a means to share the gospel. Richard will be greatly missed, but his love and life will carry on through his family and friends. Richard was preceded in death by brothers Mikey-Joe Zachry, Kerry Lynn Zachry, and Michael Small; his father Sherman Dale Zachry, and step-mother Janie Zachry and mother Johann Smith, and step-father Ron Smith. Richard is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Kathy George Zachry, sons Eric Beau Zachry and Joseph Von Zachry, and siblings Karen Zachry, Kieth Smith, Donna Fondren, Vonda Barnett, Deloris Betchel, and Monty Zachry.
