Obituary

In Loving Memory of Retha Faye Mund October 29, 1938 October 13, 2024 Retha Faye Mund, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on October 13th, 2024, just shy of her 86th birthday. Born on October 29th, 1938, Retha lived a life full of love, hard work, and devotion to those she held dear. Retha was married to the love of her life, James Mund, who preceded her in death. Together, they raised three wonderful daughters, Dee Eccher, Kim Kellett, and Kristi Bell. Sadly, Retha was preceded in death by both Dee and Kim, but their memories continued to fill her heart. She is survived by her daughter Kristi, as well as her six grandchildren Kerry, Breanna, April, Kelsey, Autumn, and Jessica and her 11 cherished great-grandchildren, who brought her endless joy and pride. Known for her incredible work ethic, Retha had a passion for nursing that kept her working well into her 70s. She simply couldnt imagine a life away from her calling, always caring for others with a calm and steady hand. Her coworkers and patients will remember her as thoughtful, determined, and always someone you could count on. Retha found joy in lifes simple pleasures. She was a loyal customer at the Disney store, if they were giving away something free with a purchase she would make sure to be one of the first people in line early in the morning. She also treasured her connection with her Avon lady, always appreciating the small things that brightened her day. She loved to meet for lunch with family and friends. Her dearest friends, Allanna and Carolyn, were her confidantes and constant sources of strength constant companions through lifes ups and downs. With Carolyn having passed before her, and her beloved four-legged companion Bella crossing the rainbow bridge just months ago, we find peace in knowing that Retha is now reunited with all those she loved so dearly. Retha leaves behind a lasting legacy of love, kindness, and perseverance. She would want to be remembered as a woman of quiet strength and unwavering care for others. Her thoughtful and calm nature touched everyone she met, and her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. Flowers may be sent to Donnellys Colonial Funeral Home. A service to honor her life will be held on Saturday, October 19th, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. at Oak Grove Memorial Cemetery. SERVICES Graveside Service
