Renita Nora Attardi was born March 27, 1960, in Lowell, MA the daughter of Salvatore Attardi and Geraldine Guthrie Attardi. She passed away Sunday, December 31, 2023, in Irving, TX after a very sudden decline in her health due to a glioblastoma tumor found on December 2, 2023. Renita was only 63 years of age.
Renita led a life filled with compassion, kindness, charity, and love for everyone around her. In her spare time, Renita enjoyed rock climbing, spending time with all her nieces and nephews, was a black belt in Tai Kwon Do, and loved volunteering. She was a generous individual who always helped others.
After graduating from High School, Renita traveled extensively throughout Europe. She graduated from Newbury College with an associate degree in interior design in 1995 and then from Pine Manor College with a degree in political science in 1997. Her career accomplishments included Aide for Business Affairs and Campaign Volunteer for Senator John F. Kerry, Executive Administration for Linda Darling-Hammond, at Standford University, Operations Manager for Cryptography Research, Inc., and Technical Operations & Development Manager at SourceDNA, Inc.
In 2016 she moved back to Texas and began volunteering with Soldiers Angels. This inspired her to go back to school to become a therapist to help support the Special Forces and military community. She completed the necessary studies to be certified as a CME and CMEC. Renitas work as a CMA allowed her to do what she was best at, to be of service where she saw a need and devote her talents to the Veteran community. Her heart for helping extended beyond just having a job; she worked tirelessly to support a healing process for those with the traumatic effects of PTSD from their service to our country. This was her true passion in life, and she loved it greatly.
Renita was predeceased by her father, Salvatore Attardi, who died June 24, 2008, and her mother, Geraldine Guthrie Attardi, who died December 29, 2010. Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Rosellen Attardi Nguyen and husband Phuoc; adopted brother Roy Attardi; nephews and niece; Christopher Nguyen and wife Stephanie, Jennifer Nguyen-Hurst and husband Geoff, Nicholas Nguyen and wife Jessica; great nieces and great nephews Hannah Miller and husband Duncan, Tai Nguyen, Aidan Hurst and Olivia Hurst.
A visitation for family and friends will be Saturday, January 6th at the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel in Irving from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. After the visitation, Renita will be cremated per her final wishes.
In lieu of flowers, Renita's wishes were to ask people to donate to either The All-Secure Foundation which is a non-profit organization serving Special Operation warriors and their families to heal from the trauma of war, or The Sentinel Foundation purpose which helps to end underage children being exploited around the world. Both of these organizations Renita was greatly involved with and cared about tremendously.
