REBECCA ALICE PURYEAR, of Irving, a beloved wife, mother and friend, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at the age of 70. She was born January 12, 1943 to Alice and Louis Nelson in Beaumont, Texas. She attended the University of Texas in Austin and Texas Tech University where she received a Bachelors Degree in math. She taught math in the Irving ISD for 34 years. She is most remembered for her love of horses and going to movies with friends. Her proudest accomplishment being her family. Rebecca is survived by her husband, James Puryear of Irving; son, Rodney Puryear and partner Michael Marchetta; son, Steven Puryear; brothers and sisters, Louis, Gretchen, Jennifer, Michael, Erik and Jessica. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 10 at Donnellys Colonial Funeral Home, 606 West Airport Freeway in Irving.
