Reba VanHoose Alexander, 89, of Chandler, TX, was born in Bridgeport, TX June 2, 1933. She was the daughter of Vernon and Jessie Marybell Morton VanHoose. She passed away Thursday, April 6, 2023, at Hospice of East Texas in Tyler, TX. She grew up in Bridgeport, Texas. She married the love of her life, Lloyd Odell Alexander on May 12, 1951. They moved to Irving in 1963 and then moved to Tyler, TX in 1998. Reba was a homemaker, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She also was an avid Volleyball player for more than 30 years. Reba was preceded in death by her parents, and her brothers J. W. VanHoose and Roy Lee VanHoose. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 71 years, Lloyd Odell Alexander; daughter, Sherry Elaine Alexander Lewis (husband, Stan); brother Raymond VanHoose (wife, Glenda); 2 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at the Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport, TX. Burial will follow at the Westside Cemetery in Bridgeport.
