RAYMOND RAY ATKINSON, age 87, a resident of Irving since 1961, died Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at home. Born November 3, 1928 in North Chicago, Illinois, the son of Elmer Atkinson and Mary DeRue Atkinson, he served in the U.S. Air Force. Ray married Dorothy Winans on September 4, 1954. He was a sales representative for Allstate Insurance, retiring after 41 years, and he was a member of Woodhaven Presbyterian Church in Irving. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy of Irving; daughter, Theresa Schults of Irving; son, Paul Atkinson and wife Donna of Southlake; son, Brian Atkinson and wife Melissa of Irving; grandchildren, Zachary, Erika, Tyler Lee, Courtney, Ryan Tyler and Elizabeth; and great grandchildren, Landry, Gage and Taylor.
