Obituary

Ray G. Schriner, 83, died Sunday November 27, 2021 in Irving, Texas. He was born March 27, 1938, near Leechburg, Pennsylvania to parents Nellie V. (Craig) and S. LeRoy Schriner. He attended Leechburg High School, graduating in 1956. Ray was a man of many different talents. He was fascinated with motion picture projection technology and became licensed as a projectionist, working in several movie theaters. He worked for a while in Connecticut as a Hartford Airport employee. He was certified in Tool & Die Design and worked as a draftsman for Hanlon & Wilson Co., making parts for the Airline Industry. Ray was drafted in 1961, trained as a radio operator, sent to Korea for his active military service, and discharged in 1967. In 1975, Ray married his sweetheart Geraldine Mountain, and moved to Texas in 1980, where he worked for Trencor Jetco, of Grand Prairie, Texas, designing trenching machines for many years. He loved baseball, and was a lifelong fan of both the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Texas Rangers. Ray also enjoyed listening to the vinyl records of classical music he had collected for many years. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Geraldine; his twin brother and spouse, Roy and Linda Schriner, of Irving, Texas; and special friend, Todd Janus, also of Irving, Texas. At his request, Ray will be cremated, and his ashes will be interred at the DFW National Cemetery as a proud veteran of the U.S. Army.
