Peggy Jean McNeely, 92, an Irving resident since 1972, died on December 25, 2017 at a local nursing home. She was born on September 18, 1925 in Desdemona, Texas to Norval Douglas Gallagher, Sr. and Phyche Mae "Peggy" (Donica) Gallagher. She earned her Bachelor degree at Texas Wesleyan College and was a physical education teacher in Pampa, Bridgeport, Fort Worth, Denton, and in Irving for over 30 years. She married Clifton McNeely on June 14, 1947 in Cisco, Texas. He preceded her in death on December 26, 2003. Peggy was a member of Plymouth Park Baptist Church in Irving. Preceded in death by her husband; grandson, David Lee McNeely; her parents; her sisters, Beryle Gallagher Cutting, and Ruth Gallagher; and her brothers, Norval Douglas Gallagher, Jr. and Glenn Doggett, she is survived by sons, Phil McNeely and wife Renee of Duncanville and Mike McNeely and wife Debbie of Fort Worth; daughter, Sheryl Shaw of Irving; five grandchildren: Scott McNeely and wife Crystal of Keller, Taylor McNeely and wife Erica of Fort Worth, Kristin Myrick and husband Justin of Vidor, Clifton Shaw of Crosby, and Wayne Stewart and wife Shelley of The Woodlands; eight great-grandchildren: Decota Gordon, Reid McNeely, Grace Myrick, Makayla Myrick, Brantley Shaw, Chris Stewart, Kennedy Stewart and Parker Stewart. Funeral service is planned for 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 28 in the Chapel at Donnellys Colonial Funeral Home, 606 West Airport Freeway, Irving, Texas 75062, Rev. Ken Branam will officiate. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens, 1413 East Irving Blvd., Irving, Texas 75060. SERVICES
